What to Expect

Hands on backHave you ever been to a social event where you have not known anyone? How uncomfortable can that make you feel? Our goal is to eliminate your apprehension and to make you feel at home. By consulting Windsor Chiropractor you are taking an exciting step towards better health.

Chiropractic Care is different, it's this difference that offers new ways to get and stay well.

Chiropractic Care involves a number of visits, each one building on the previous. We have found that the best results occur when there is a sound understanding of the care we provide. This is why we explain everything in advance.

First Appointment

When you book your Initial Consultation, you will be sent a confirmation email which contains your Health Questionnaire. Receiving this in advance allows you ample time to provide us as much information about events that have occurred in your life which have contributed to your current health position.

When you arrive at Windsor Chiropractor for your first appointment, you will be greeted by our friendly and enthusiastic team.

Your initial visit with Louise Gordon is about getting to know each other and will include:

  • A comprehensive health history looking at past and present issues that may be related to the problem you are presenting with.
  • Finding out about your health goals.
  • Thorough orthopaedic, neurological and chiropractic tests to obtain vital information about any areas of spinal, nervous system or joint dysfunction. This includes your posture, reflexes and how you move. These tests help to locate areas that may be the cause of your problem.
  • In some cases further investigation may be required prior to commencement of care, Diagnostic Imaging may be recommended. 

It is important that we understand and get to know you. So if you already have any relevant x-rays, scans, patient notes or letters please bring them along with you to your appointment.

In most cases Louise will provide you with your first Chiropractic Adjustment on your first visit.

This appointment takes approximately 40 minutes.

Second Appointment

After assessing and correlating the results from your first visit, Louise will give you a comprehensive report of these results.

Here we explain ideal posture, the biomechanics of the spine, how the body adapts to the stresses in your life and how your body has adapted resulting in your symptoms.

We will discuss whether Chiropractic Care will be of benefit to you, and the most appropriate treatment plan based on your condition and achieving your health goals.

We can provide you with helpful homecare tips.

If we find that you would benefit from consulting a different practitioner, we will make appropriate referral.

We call this visit the Report of Findings which is approximately 30 minutes.

Following this visit you will be given the opportunity to booked appointments in advance according to the treatment plan recommended. This ensures that each appointment time is reserved at the most convenient time for you.

Regular Visits And On Going Re-assessments

With a plan in place to fulfil your health goals, your typical visit will be for a chiropractic adjustment. This takes approximately 10 minutes depending on what your body needs on the day. Please wear loose comfortable clothing for your treatments, gowns are also provided if you require. To support your recovery you will be advised on posture, exercise and any lifestyle changes that may be beneficial.

At every appointment we assess and alter your treatment as needed. To provide the most effective treatment possible for you at each stage of your recovery, your progress will be monitored and formally re-assessed at certain intervals. These assessments allow for changes in recommendations of your care schedule, exercises,stretches and the introduction of other health specialists.
